Ceremony Decor

There are endless possibilities for wedding ceremony decor, but here are some of my favourite to get you started:

1. Floral arrangements

Flowers are a classic choice for wedding decor. You can create a stunning floral arch or garland to frame the altar or create a focal point.  Most florists have a wealth of experience in this area, and they will help you design something to match your vision and budget.

Of course, if you’re going for a DIY wedding you could make your own arch or hire one, and there are lots of online tutorials showing you how to add those beautiful floral touches.

Don’t forget you can repurpose your ceremony floral arrangements for your reception afterwards to get the most out of your budget and reduce waste at the same time.  Vase arrangements can be hung from aisle chairs or placed on the floor and then moved to tables as centrepieces afterwards.

2. Greenery

If you're going for a more natural, bohemian vibe, consider using greenery such as eucalyptus or ruscus to decorate the ceremony space.

3. Lighting

Using candles, lanterns, or fairy lights can create a romantic and intimate atmosphere. Unfortunately, naked flames can be a safety issue and many venues don’t allow them, but don’t worry, there are some amazing flameless options that allow you to create that magical candlelit ambience without the risk!

4. Unique props

Think outside the box and incorporate unique props like vintage rugs, antique furniture, or even bicycles to add a personal touch to your wedding ceremony decor.

5. Hanging installations

Hanging floral arrangements or greenery can create a unique and memorable look for your wedding ceremony. You can also use hanging lanterns or chandeliers for a more formal and elegant vibe.  For those looking for something with more colour, try hanging fabric bunting to match your colour scheme or look to hire colourful streamer decor to really make an impact.

6. Signage

You can use signage to direct guests to where they should sit, or let them know they can sit wherever they’d like.  Perhaps you would prefer to have an unplugged ceremony or ask that guests don’t share images before you do.  Signage can set the tone, let your guests know your wishes and add to your decor at the same time.

7. Creative seating

Consider using unique seating options like vintage chairs for the main wedding party or perhaps hay bales with cushions to create a relaxed and casual atmosphere. If you’re opting for a relaxed outdoor ceremony, you could ask your guests to bring a picnic blanket to sit on.
